Hello all
I’ve had the Feroza for about 5 years and still have a vibration in 3rd

Can any one help on this one .say I put it in 3rd early so that the car is under load (say 1900 rev) all sounds good .as I clime in the rev range still good and no vibes I get to about 2100 vibration starts fading in, still climbing steady (in rev) the vibes fade out to nothing @ 2900, Can only hear the vibes. Sounds like the gear box. I’m getting a lot of movement at the universal joint sleeve yoke I can move it up and down by hand so much so it looks slightly doggy or skewered. And decelerating just sounds like its Laughing in a grinding vibration kinder way. all so i heard sum where that it might be the catalytic converter vibrating under different loads at this point ill consider any think plus just re sprayed the car if I could just hammer down these vibes I’d be happy with the car. Any input wood be appreciated
Thanks rob

So it only happens in third ? - its not road speed related ?

Mostly noticeable in 3rd. no vibes in 1st if i change gear early 3 or 4 starts off good and then vibes fade in and out (Mostly noticeable in 3rd) don’t think its road speed related. Say I’m going down a hill vibes are there but fades in and out faster properly because there’s less strain on the box. If I’m in “lo 4” no vibes at all, vibes are present in “hi 4”thay seem to be in the working load range of 3rd and 4th like if I’m following sum one up a slight hill in a city street it’s right on the vibe range so change down exe, the thing that gets me is that its good lo in 3rd.

Classic sounds of a worn gearbox IMHO. Mine did the same before the rebuild.

I got mine rebuilt before it went, but I drove mine like that for around 5 years. Try some Redline Shockproof gear oil in it- it did mine wonders and quietened it down considerably. Improved the shifts in cold weather as well.
