I didn't want to post it as I didn't want to look like a shameless plug (as it's not -- it's something I was really pissed about last night) and I really care what people think about this idea. I asked a friend if he would, he asked a friend.. as so on.... but I look like a wanker now anyway so there's nothing much more to say...

Right. And what does this have to do with the price of Atlantic Samon in the Tsukiji fish market??

From what i read, they're trying to save face for the 4x4 enthusiasts in the UK. To do this, you join a club/group who's members stand for a particular set of rules etc.

Given that this list of "rules" and ideals is LAW and/or common sense anyway - i say it is a total crock.

That's exactly what I think -- but the idea of having a unified lobby group speaking for the 4X4 industry is a good one - they've just gone about it wrong.

We already have that - the ANFWDC (though I know there are mixed feelings about them...)

From my limited knowledge and input into the politics of 4wding, for us its a lost cause for this sort of stuff. Basically anybody outside the loop (retailers, clubs, enthusiasts etc.) is either on the fence, or is completely against the hobby. Even the organisations that are supposed to be in there batting for us can't/havent done much - only due to the powers above them.

On the other side, if we didn't have so many irresponsible dickwads ruining the bush, this problem wouldn't be here in the first place.

Peace out.
