child saftey?

just wondering how you guys have done the baby/child seat into the 60 seires cruiser?
iv got an 83 60 with an 87+ body with twin headligths

iv been told to maybe to drill a hole throught the floor plate either side and bolt it up?????????????

whats do your think?

I dont have a 60 I have a 73 midi.

Mines a bar across the back from side to side with the restraint clips on it.

When my cab was cut, the engineer told us to put some restraint clips from a benz in it held in with riverts :shock:

matthewK, the problem you have is that the seats are not designed for restraints to go to the floor,the backs of the seats are not strong enough and will collapse under strain. You have to fit a CRAB (child restraint anchor bar).

That being said the later model seats actually have an anchor point halfway down the back of the seats, so you may be able to check if this is the case in your vehicle.

If not do NOT drill through the floor as you will be putting your kids at risk.

only reason i thought throught the floor was when the old man got his it had a bolt throught the floor,

but in saying this i do have the 61/62 series body i have check and found 2 bolt holes on the back of the seat itself 100-200 from the top, with one side actually having a bolt in it :P so i think u have answered my question,

nah i have located the actuall child restrain holes on the back of the actual seat 2 ofthem and i shall use them :P
