75 Series running hot problems
Has anyone had a problem with 1HZ fitted with a Turboglide kit which continually runs hot - at over 100KM per hr.
Have fitted new radiator, viscous hub, thermastat etc.
Any suggestions
Many thanks John

try the Toyota tech section, more likely to get a sensible answer there

I run the same setup in my 1hz...no problems at all..
It could be over fuelled...
How are you measuring the heat to say its hot?
If it seems to happen at speed, ie: running engine at higher revs for lenghty periods then its probably the water pump..
It cant pump the water around the system at the correct flow rate to cool the contents properly. but at idle slower speeds it can.

One of the most obvious and forgotten things to check is the bottom radiator hose. They can go soft and reinforcing erodes. Under high revs the hose sucks in ever so slightly and restricts flow. Get the motor nice and warm and then open the bonnet and watch the hose as you get some one to hold the throttle at 2500 revs for about 30 secs. if that hose looks like it sucks in even one p@*fteenth then replace it. if that all checks out fine then you can borrow a thermal gun then do the same thing but instead of checking the hose aim the gun just behind the turbo and check the temp if the manifold there is over 550 degrees it may be a little over fuelled
