GQ Steering Damper

My stock steering damper has seen better days. What sort of steering damper should I buy? Whats the advantage of a return to centre? Is a RTC damper still OK in the bush?
RTC dont work well with power steering.blackmav wrote:I have just gone from a huge RTC tough Dog unit to a non RTC adjustable Tough dog unit after bending the RTC.....
I think I preferred the RTC unit.
Are you talking about the extra load on the pump?GU_247 wrote:RTC dont work well with power steering.blackmav wrote:I have just gone from a huge RTC tough Dog unit to a non RTC adjustable Tough dog unit after bending the RTC.....

More load on the valve in the power steeing box, not the pumpblackmav wrote:Are you talking about the extra load on the pump?GU_247 wrote:RTC dont work well with power steering.blackmav wrote:I have just gone from a huge RTC tough Dog unit to a non RTC adjustable Tough dog unit after bending the RTC.....

Other than that it worked fine, it returned the steering to centre, where now I seem to have to wheel the steering back to center.
I was running it with nothing at all, and it was suprisingly good. Light steering and didn't need to be physically straightend.
I only put a dampener on cause it got a case of the death wobbles. Turned out it was the out of balance tyres.
