Hi All

I need some advice about rear leaf springs on a BJ42. To cut a long story short for some reason the only springs that would fit are a set from the front of a 75 series.
Due to the heavier load rating of springs the ride is very hard.

Can I take a leaf from the springs to soften it up? If so, how many do you recommend? I have been told 1.

Thx

yes you can take a leaf out. make sure you clamp the leafs before undoing the spring pin, and make sure you have a couple of spare ones because it sucks having to postpone putting it all back to gether when you realise they're rusted solid,

Generally speaking the longer leaves are for lift and the shorter leaves are for load carrying. I'd take out maybe two of the smaller leaves.
