Outer Limits 4x4 Board

hi,

Well i have a 92 3.OL LWB automatic pajero. Now my question is: when i drive the car it goes 1st gear 2nd gear and when it goes into 3rd gear which is at about 40-45kms it does not chnge to 4th gear till about 85kms and the rev is at 5000rpm???? What could be the problem??? I was thinking of the switch that controls what gear the car is in which is the inhibiator switch or something like that. just want to get a few peoples thoughts on what it could be.

I'd start by looking at the kickdown cable - if it's adjusted incorrectly the trans thinks you're using more throttle than you really are.
