New GU ute at work
We just got a new GU leaf ute at work (i work at a mine in central qld) and compared to the 75 series cruisers we got its so rough, seems to use the chassis instead of the suspension to soak up the bumps and sends it through the whole vehicle.
just wondering if nissan have cured the hand grenading of the ZD30 by now cos i want to know a way to blow it up, that way they will give us a v8 cruiser if we keep destroying the pooeys.

put key in, turn it and drive it..nibbsy wrote:... cos i want to know a way to blow it up,
or start it, just put a brick on throttle, and walk away.
found out one reason why it may be a bit stiff, the tyres may have had about 15 PSI too much from the dealer
its a bit better now but the seats are so shit compared to the cruiser and its still rougher.
It shouldnt take long to blow up, its got 800km on it and we have had it four days!!

haha you're one of the few people in the world who thinks the cruiser ute seats are more comfortable than the patrol's!
i mean they're both pretty shit, but i found the patrols to be just that bit nicer. not by much but my back/arse preferred them.
how to blow up a grenade?
Hmmmm..you need a dose of bad fuel. even then the common rail injectors will probably shit themselves before the motor does (bit unlike the old version)

stuee wrote:Good luck on getting the cruiser. I'd say the reason you don't have them at the moment is that they don't have airbags. Most light vehicles these days are required to have them to be used on mine sites.
I dont think he is listening or wants to hear that...
They will just fix the grenade and give it back to him
there are other new cruisers on site so the airbag issue isnt the problem, it may be that they destroyed a heap of parts in the first few weeks when they OCE got a new one!
Oh well, im happy just to thrash what ever they give me, i do enjoy driving the bosses new hilux, those things get sideways and just keep it out there!
good fun.

Hahahaha well a bit of bracing can fix this. Bit easier than rebuilding a motor hey. And isnt it funny that Toyota dont even have a full coil option on the utes. Awesome them new v8 dsl's lol. Property owners love them hehehehe.Red04VXE wrote:What about the Pootrol Coil Rears bending Chassis Rails?
Has there been a thread on that?
That must be one large mine site to cover that distance??nibbsy wrote:found out one reason why it may be a bit stiff, the tyres may have had about 15 PSI too much from the dealer

its all fun and games.
the vehicles never stop, they are always in use 24/7
when someone finishes their shift someone else jumps in and starts theirs, thats why there are a heap of km on em.
be intersting to see how they go compared with the cruisers, wait and see i guess.
They are definatley not as comfy on ride and seats though.....
