gday lads

just chasing some info on cutting back a swb into a ute and if anyone has some pics of this done. was also looking at extending the wheelbase, am i better off extending the chassis or buying a long wheel base and reducing it. any info would be great.

cheers

ive done what you are asking,

i took a SWB cut the back down, welded in a rear wall, i then moved the coil mounts back on the chassis about 16" its a bit of work to shorten a LWB chassis, there is also a bit of work cutting and extending the SWB chassis,

i think most engineers will prefer you to move mounts, as cuttin a chassis is a pretty major mod.

sounds good just moving the shock mounts, then im guessin you just extend trailing arms and tailshaft to suit. any problems on anything hitting the chassis due to not using the higher part of the chassis anymore.
