Hey just bought a lockrite but its for a 60 series not 80 and ive got an 80. Is there any reason why i couldnt bolt a 60 series front diff on to my 80 an if so is there any real difference in strength?
Otherwise anyone want to swap an 80 series locka (LR-09) for my 60 series locka (LR-13)

The centre wont fit, and its not worth changing the whole housing.. There might be a chance the Lokka will fit a Hilux centre though..

said the actress to the bishop....
Plenty of people on here have fitted lokka's to the rear, some were happy, some were not. Should find quite a few discussions on the topic with a quick search. I prefer a selectable locker (ARB, TJM, etc) in the rear that you can turn off but thats just me. My old man has a detroit in the back of his 80 and I'm not a big fan of driving it on road.

The diff centre from the 60 will bolt wholus bowlus in the 80 housing. However, if you have constant 4wd, there is a very small issue, 60 runs 4.11, 80 runs 4.10...there will be bind, probably not much, nothing running different tyre pressures wont fix, but anyway.....u can putthe 60 centre of the diff with locker and all into the 80 pumpkin, using the 60 series bearings and all...sinple as that...then you have a 60 housing with 80 lsd which the later 60'd came with std anyway....
