Its pretty simple really.
This is how I did it.
Just do a heap of measuring and work out how much you can take off.
Then mark it out with a permanent marker and chop the back off, leave a centimeter or two on one edge past your cut line.
Get some pliers and fold that lip in just slightly along your cut line so the back piece will overlap when you slide it on.
It will make welding the tail section back on much easier by having the overlap. Butt welding thin arse shitty japanese panels is not fun.
Grind up all the edges with a sanding disc/flap wheel and slide the two bits together and do a couple of tacks.
Check all is sweet and then weld it up by stitch welding a bit at a time so you dont blow holes.
Grind, Bog, Paint.

I also cut back the lower part of the rear corners to expose the chassis rails to fit recovery points and to make it easier to shove the hose down there to clean mud out of the rails.
Paul.

for marking the line did you make sure they tub was level and use a dropper on a string to get a straight line?

I just used a big carpenters square along the top of the tub.
