Freewheeling hubs lubrication question

I am fitting some freewheeling hubs to my Suzuki and would like to know what sort of lubrication, if any, to use in them.
I just bought some over the phone from a wrecker and they are both pretty dirty with one having some surface rust and pitting, which I have cleaned up, but I would like to know what sort of lubrication I should use to keep the lock/unlock action smooth. Perhaps grease? (I thought that grease may be a bit heavy)

Grease.
I run waterproof grease in mine - about the stickiest shit you can buy - and they seem to work fine. Though a lighter grease could be preferable?

u dont want the grease too sticky as the sliding collar gets stuck.
I use HTB bearing grease

my hilux's have always been a bitch to turn, regardless if they are lubed with WD40 or drill shaft grease (think snot, but oily)
Wish they were anywhere near as easy to turn as the cruiser ones at work

Damn near need pliars for mine, and the cruisers are two finger flicks :(

Ferrit, i had the same thing on the old 4runner, when i did the wheel bearings i stripped them right down, cleaned them up and put them back together with a light smear of the blue waterproof HTB grease and they were magic.
Another product you could use would be mountain bike chain oil - TriFlow, its silicon based & 'dry' so wont collect dust and crap should it make its way in.

just some smears of any grease really
the only turning they do is when you turn them by hand. (realtive to the hub)
