confusing suzuki wiring

hey
i got a suzuki mighty boy with a problem i no its not a 4wd but its still a suzuki. and i wanted to replace the coil but the coil has 3 wires coming out of it plus the big one. but all the other coils only have 2 wires plus the big one. can i hook up a normal coil in there and how do i.

what engine has it got?
i am guessing it may be different as its only got 3cyl?

ive put the 800cc hatch engine in but i think its the original coil from the 550cc engine.

After looking at the diagram

I'd say a normal coil would work.
Negative to distributor and the other two wires on the positive.
Make sure you use a coil designed for use with a ballast resistor.

did that and now it wont even fire. hooked up the old coil and still nothing.

Maybe you misdiagnosed the problem then and it isn't the coil?

but the problem is it wont even try to fire. where as it used to b4 i swapped coils i just gotta work out wat i did wrong.

have you tried posting this in the auto electric section of this forum. Might have more luck getting an answer from an auto electrician rather than just hoping as its Suzuki a Suzuki person will know.

My 1.3 sierra had a similar problem.
Turned out to be the distributor, maybe you should check that out?

i worked it out yesterday. it was the ignition fuse had blown. probably wen i hooked that new coil up.
