Hey guys my rear drivers disc on my import 2.5td paj seems to be locked on slightly well i am guessing.. it gets hotter then the rest and last week it cooked the fluid and i couldnt stop have redone the fluid with DOT4 brake fluid i know its not ment to but i cant get DOT3 anymore,

question is can i stop it from locking on.. im guessing its something to do with handbrake adjustment? its only on the slightest bit i cant really feel it only when i back off it slows down fairly quick

this is only a guess that it is locking on as its the only disc that gets hotter then the rest and by a fair amount as i tested it with a thermometer

Cheers in advance for help!
Dion.

your caliper may be siezed? id start by jacking up the wheel and trying to turn it by hand. if its stiff, take off wheel and remove caliper. then try rotate again. if its the caliper it will move freely obviously, and then get a new seal kit and rebuild the caliper if its not to far gone. if its not the caliper, then you will have to look into the drum handbreak mechanisim, id start by disconnecting the cable, that should release any pressure, and if it dont you have a problem. ive never pulled my drums to bits so thats about all the help i can be.

They suck. Compared to disc's.

It will be easy to tell when like Sam said you take the disc calliper off. I would ahve thought you'd be going through rear brake pads like crazy if they were sticking that much.

try your handbrake adjustment cabele there is a little 10mm bolt on it loosen it up a few turns until its adjusted or you may have to pull off your rear drums if you cant grt enough there is another set of shoes in there there is also adjusters in there to adjust it more make sure you adgust it evenly on each side if you do this
