Clutch Flywheel Question??

Gday,

I'm still trying to get to the bottom of this ticking noise in my Hilux that goes away when i depress the clutch.

Ive now been told that it could be the 'teeth' in the clutch slightly rubbing on the flywheel.

I have noticed that the ticking noise gets faster the faster i go and slows down as the vehicle slows.

So does the flywheel spin faster as you accelerate to a higher speed and then slow as the vehicle slows??

If so could this be the problem - i figure this makes sense that's all??

Any ideas would be great. ;)

yes the flywheel speeds up, but it speeds up with engine revs. and slows with the revs decreasing.

Pull the box off, whatever it is your most likely going to have to pull it off anyway.

The rate at which the flywheel spins is based on engine revs. So at 2000rpm doing 40k's it will be spinning at the same speed at 2000rpm at 100ks, for example.

Try a RS throwout or spigot bearing. Pull the box and have a look
