LPG tank inspections

my tank is out of date (88 GQ) and i gotta get it inspected and plated for rego, what do they actually do to test the tanks???

They generaly fill them with water and then pressurise them with shop air and see if it leaks, They also check for any signs of rust both internal and external.

they also come back with a new coat of paint and new valves. cheap as, about $65 if you remove and replace it yourself..

really?? i was told $190 for a dude to come out to my place and he just looks over the tank, mine is pitted on the bottom from water sitting between the tank an the bashplate so i dont know if it would pass or not.. does anyone know how much a new tank would cost me if it doesnt pass?

Are you sure thats all they do ?? I though that the tank had to be checked for expansion as well ..

ok so how much would i be lookin at for a new/2nd hand gas tank???
