OK put a 2" lift on my Hilux today but now the torque bar wont fit. Any suggestions on what to do about this guys. The bar only needs to be about 5mm longer.
What function does this bar perform. My book just tells me what it is called not what it does. I have taken it out for now car still seems to drive OK.
Any one else have this problem???

Tough Dog make an adjustable torque rod.....I should know, I have two of them on my uppers for the stock 5 link rear to adjust the pinion angle after the 2.5" spring lift. ~$100 each.

I replaced mine with an adjustable one, plenty of room to move.

Hilux "may" dive under brakes, be careful. Kits are avaiable to lift them plus check aftermarket as above.

I got mine through Snake Racing, I think it was a Tough Dog brand or something like that. Have had no problems so far...

Sounds like an adjustable one is the go. Just tried to force this one on again but there is no chance in hell of it fitting.
Thanks for your help guys.

Mine did, was after I fitted the 4 inch superlift about 5.5 years ago. What a waste of money that was

But I never tried it at 110, only at about 60 and that was bad enough.

Drove it yesterday and didn't notice anything unusual about the steering or braking but will pick up an adjustable one tomorrow so I can go to Ormeau this weekend.

i took mine for a spin up the putty road the other weekend without the rod, it was ok, i could predict the bump steer and would let the well jump around a little and it kept going straight, but when i was breaking to stop at the traffic light and change lanes at the same time it was very interesting, glad there was no other traffic was around.
