Vitara Steering box / GVM

I had a discussion regarding what factors dictate the GVM of vehicles, we have established that on my Sierra the weakest point will be the steering box which is from a 2lt SWB Vitara.
I know that the box is the same as in a 1.6 4 door which has a GVM of 1650kg but I am curious to know if the V6 Vits ran the same box and if so what the GVM is of that vehicle? any Vit guru's.
