Hi guys,
I'm currently looking at yet another sierra down south...lol...any way, wondering if there's any good services that will go give the car a good look over for me, like RACQ or what ever, that you guys would recommend?
When i talked to the guy at the dealership, he said some thing about NRMA and RACQ not doing the checks any more? :S and recommended some independent inspections or some thing...? Quick bit of googlein has brought up
http://www.ivi.net.au/ but i cant get them on that phone number?
The car is located in Sydney, at a dealership. Looks like a good one, but cause its going to be my daily driver for a while, i wanna make sure its going to be very reliable.
Cheers.

Crock of crap. NRMA does do the inspections still, but as they made all they're inspectors redundant, and have contracted out the task of vehicle inspections, you may have to take the vehicle into an autherised contractor to get the inspection done. I'm pretty sure there are a contractors that will go out to the car yard though, as I was offered a position to do just that a few months ago. Best thing to do is to contact NRMA motoring and services to find out for sure.

I just used MTA a few weeks ago.

EXPENSIVE! but was worth it for me. They carry a computer or PDA (or something) and put the results of the report strait into it. When they are finished they upload it and you get an emailed report. In my case i had the report within 20mins of him finishing the inspection.
But... i paid $275 for it. So, IMO, depends on what you are spending on the car and how much money you have.
cheers

Hi guys,
Thanks for the suggestions. I hit up the Independent Vehicle Inspections. They sound pretty good, and by the sounds of it, after only giving the go ahead to go check it out yesterday, hes going to look at it today
Well i got the dealer down to 6k on a almost stock, 97 model with 108k KM's on it.
Only mods are a nudge bar with some spotties, and looks really neat. Crap load better then the soft top with a dick head owner i was looking at (is it normal for soft top owners to leave the windows down over night, when you know its going to rain? This one had a great big puddle behind the back seats when i went for a second look...)
So hopefully ill have a new zook soon!
