looking for advice for electronic rustproofing on my discovery...i know its mostly aluminium...but there are steel parts...is there any downsides to getting it, i heard a rumor that it can corrode aluminium.
Is this true?

I wouldn't waste my money if I was you. Electronic rustproofing works if the item in question is immersed in electrolyte (e.g. salt water), but in a vehicle, I have not seen any evidence that it works.
I would invest in lanolin and/or fish oil instead.

I agree, after seeing millitary TFA fire trucks which are fitted with industrial strength electronic rust prevention systems, they just don't seem to work. These trucks rust badly, though I cannot compare one without the RPS as they all have them. They have steel frames with alloy panels.

They do guarantee it for life.
i am going to take my baby up the beach for christmas and would prefer if it didnt rust in a few months....but i dont want to do more harm than good.
i think it has wax solution in place already, but i am not 100% sure of that as i did not get the car new.

I would love to see the wording of that guarantee???
I bet it would be along the lines of:
Only if professionally fitted
Only if a NEW vehicle???
For the "lifetime" of the vehicle for the original purchaser only (e.g. 3 years or so on average).
A mate had a system fitted to his 110. It developed rust on the rear passenger door skins (aluminium).
Wax - "wayoyl" or "waxoil" is common in the UK for rust prevention, but I don't know if it is used by Land Rover. IME fish oil or lanolin works better.

Either pressure pack or pump. I got a 1.5l pump pack of the heavy duty stuff a couple of years ago and did under the vehicle, inside doors, every nook and crannie ... and it is still there. Given that was at least 2 years ago, maybe worth another respray.
