lockright question

hey all
if i give my lockright in the front diff a little more clearance (side gear to housing) will it make it cam out a bit easier ?
Im finding a real challenge keeping it steering where i want . It doesnt seem to disengage much at all.
ive got one in the rear no problems it goes in and out fine.
If I cant fix this or make it better I think a air locker is coming but I dont want to spend the cash

I don't know much about auto lokkas but I know if you want to steer it you have two choices:
1, Power steering
2, Air locker.
Best would be both. I quite often forget my front is engaged now I have power steer.

giving it more clearance will affect the way it works. how about putting your t/case in 2wd with the hubs locked while your just doing transport stages, this way you won't have drive to the front engaging the locker.

Mines a bit#$ on hard pack surfaces, doesnt matter if transfer in 2wd or 4wd. as long as hubs are in its heavy.

mines a powertrax auto locker.

can you do it in a zook??
if so who does them?
i have the issue in L4 as well

As joeblow has said 2low is the best way and simply grab two for turns, if you need 4wd for the turn then the locked diff shouldn't effect your turn too much

I would check the operation of your locker, in 2wd it should rachet quite easily and you will hear it. I have driven for days on road with the hubs locked and not felt it.
