How to remove window tint

My new GQ has the old purple tint on the inside of the windows, all bubbled and split,
Is there an easy way to remove it without chiseling it off, a chemical or something.

hair dryer and a scraper.. remove residue with acetone or similar.

There is a product you can get from Wollies called Citri Clean, works wonders on the glue after you pell the film off.

i can get the glue off easily with auto thinners its the film thats the problem

ive cleaned 2 windows but i might feel like using the brick when i get to the last one

if the tint isnt completely baked on you can start on a corner and slowly, carefully peel it back at a 90-180 degree angle -this leaves glue behind but as someone else suggested - citri clean or similar (citric acid) will take it off no worries.

if the tint is cracking apart then you have no option but the scraper method - you can dab the tint with the citrus stuff first and let it sit a while too, can soften it up.

Just did all the windows on the 80, its an awful job, scraper changing the razor blades reguarly, and acetone moved the residue the quickest, just need to use gloves though as acetone will give you a nasty case of dermatitis if prone to that sort of thing.

all depends on the glue used on the film... bloke came to club once telling us how much of a bastard it can be if certain glues are used.

heat it up with an iron. be sure to use lots of steam. sometimes you can get the glue to come off with the tint in 1 big sheet

Wet newspaper sticks to the glass, keep rewetting for an hour or so, softens the film, peels off much easier. I've used a razorblade scrapper to ease it off. Still need acetone or thinners on the glue that remains.

We have a steamer which we use at work for materials and it pulls the tint straight off easy, as suggested a wallpaper steamer would also work.
