Outer Limits 4x4 Board

Got a quick question....am looking for ideas on how to store:-

A first aid kit
A medium sized torch
and A "kit" that is about the size of a small tackle box (that holds things like occy straps and WD40)

at present they are just rolling around in the very back of the roza (and giving me the s*&ts) and I was thinking about trying to get one of those net things (I have seen on the back of some driver and front passenger seats for kids to put stuff in) to put over the back seat to store these in. Just wondering if anyone knows where I can get them or how else I would store these things.

I have a box i made out of timber strappedin to the roll bar in the back, it has my compressor, tools, snatch 1st aid etc in it as well as a pair of old pants to get dirty.

I strap it down so it dont roll anywhere, its flat so i can put things on top of it when i need to.

i have plans i drew up for a storage box / false floor in the Feroza. They are only hand drawn, and I can easily draft them up on CAD for ya if your interested.

It was to be made out of timber, with opewnings in the top to get the stuff inside. I didnt get around to building it. It could easily be modified to allow for a fridge slider etc.

I also have the drawings for my custom front bash plate.

Actually... I wouldn't mind getting those drawings Heath.

QLDGAL, what I do is the following... I have a sports bag I got from a $2 shop... real cheap $5 I think (still cant understand why they advertise everything for $2 yet that cost me $5)... I have it in the back and i put the shoulder strap around the hook where the rear seats click on to.... i lower the rear seats.... tighten the strap.... snug as a bug!!!

I would like a storage container that I could fix in place and remove when needed that would fit behind the rear seats. But like you said Paul, the cheap sports bag that I have also does the job!

With regard to that medium-sized torch, I always have a 3D-cell Maglite in the car, in two mounting brackets which I`ve fixed to the rollbar inside.

Thanks for that Heath but I probably won't need that just yet - I dont have the tools or the knowhow to create something like that.

I might go and have a look at a cheap shop tomorrow see if I can find a bag to store it all in.

ANothe roption are those plastic boxes you get from Crazy Clarks or SUper Cheap. You can get big but thin ones. I friend had one once, and woorked fairly well.

No problem. Just make sure the shoulder strap is long enough and adjustable.

Hi all
I have an old metal tool box fitted on left hand side of engine compartment all bits disappear, rubber seal so no damp either

For soft stuff, especially in Rockys, suspend a rectangle of fishing netting from the roof over the rear seat and rear luggage compartment. Its good for soft kids toys, books, maps, ect. Keeps them off the floor, and out of the mud/water that tends to get into 4wds.
Qldgal, r u in a club at all? Just wondering, cause if its association affiliated, then the country meeting is on at Kenilworth queens birthday weekend. Should be a good weekend. It will be my 7th or 8th country meeting in a row.

I am not in a club - got anymore details for this event - Kenilworth is only 30 minutes from home.

Firstly, unfortunately, you need to be a member of a 4wd club that is affiliated with the Queensland Association of Four Wheel Drive Clubs to be eligable to attend the country meetings, it is not an event open to the public. But they are a blast, well worth the club membership, just to go to these. Previous country meetings have been at (in reverse order) Rockhampton, Mt Perry near Bundaberg, Amamoor state forest (I know you know where that is) Canungra, Kenilworth again, Bororen near Gladstone, Amamoor state forest again and Mt Perry again. They are nearly always held on the Queens Birthday weekend. They involve camping out with sometimes up to 200 other 4wders from clubs from round the state. Trips are normally scheduled from the Saturday morning to the Monday morning, ranging from scenic to very difficult. You also get to go into areas that are normally not accessible to the public. There is a meeting to attend, but is normally on for 2-3 hrs or so. There is normally evening entertainment. I intend to hit Brissie in the couple of days before the weekend to attend the camping and 4wd expo, then head to Kenilworth on the Friday morning.
