A trailer to private tracks is all that is legal as far as I know.

I was hoping some one might know if there are any 4wd parks etc that allow unreg trucks.

private propertly.

all the parks have insurances which require a CTP as a minimum.
you may be able to get this for an un-registered vehicle, they obviously do for comps, but im not sure for day to day stuff, contact a few parks and see what they know, theyll probably say something similar, and tell you to talk to an insurer about organising CTP.

If you build unreg. go play the buggys at comps.

If not find private property.

If not dont build it. You just end up going some where you shouldn't be and making the rest look like tools.

could it be an option to rego it while its standard than do the mods and just keep the rego.
Just don't put the number plates on so you cant get reported to DOT.

Huh????

In Qld once it's registered that's it, they don't see it again unless you get pulled up and requested to have an inspection.

If it's on a trailer without plates on, they can't do anything.

No where to play much these days.

Ok Ill register it stock and trailer it to parks and just use the plates in the 4wd parks. Bit of a pain but atleast Ill be able to use it somewhere.

not sure about other parks but i know definitely that The Springs and possibly Rover Park (once they know you and you arent an idiot of course) will allow you to take unregistered vehicles in there..

i have taken my buggy to the springs before..i contacted him first and let him know when i planned on going..he even came out for a drive with us

In Vic if the area is private land such , if it can be established that the area has been frequented and open to use by vehicles then any unregistered vehicles can be done.

Usually that means a large expanse of privately owned bush that there is common knowledge is for the place to take your rig...the courts have been accepting of the argument that it is open to and used by vehicles. Lathams Road reserve owned by the Vic roads and Melbourne Water ( read where the by Frankston by pass will commence) was used for the last 20 years as a off road facility by locals.
