hey all
anyone had any experience with using vic trader plates in the bush?
I have one that I havn't used in a few years but kept it current just in case.
By my view of the vic roads regs I can use it under the vehicle modifiction clause for the purpose of testing vehicle mods on any hwy
road etc and bush track .

Therefore bypassing engineering regs Totally

dont get me wrong im not out to drive any old shit barge trough the bush just want to ensure my 4x4 comes home without a yellow sticker on the screen.

showed the regs to the local cops they just shrugged their shoulder "we don't know" they said it looks right

ps i dont drive this 4x4 on the road unless I really must.

any thoughts? below is my shit barge

Well firstly there are two different types of trade plates. There are those for repairers and those for traders. If it registered for traders then No you can't use it for what you are wanting to.
If it is registered for a repairer then you are able to roadtest a vehicle after repairs. How ever, you can only roadtest it during business hours and you can only roadtest it at the closest suitable location.
So you couldn't use it for weekend bush use legally.
