auxiliary fuel tank

gday i have a 2001 hilux and want to mount a second fuel tank in place of spare wheel. on the cheap of course has anyone any info ie tanks from other vehicles, mounting etc any help would be great

If you want to do it on the cheap, why not call around some wrecking yards and source one from a simmilar model and just run it higher and fed it into your 1st tank??? Let gravity feed from the aux into the other. Failing that, just weld up a box shape tank and use it as a aux tank and use gravity again? Sure beats paying for a long range tank, or paying for an aftermarket aux.

yeah was thinkin along those lines would probably use an electric pump to transfer to main tank,can keep all pipework out of harms reach then.

I have heard of people using a 120series prado rear tank.

check around the LP Gas instulation places.
