Ok, so I needa put some flaps on for rego, but the standard sized ones don't cover the full wheel width. The larger ones I have don't fit the standard mounting spot, so how have you guys mounted it? This is on a ute tub mid 80's, but any ideas on how to mount it will help. Thanks.

Go to the rubber & foam shop and buy some rubber, and make your own mudflaps. Works out cheaper and better too.

Use the original brackets, but cut them shorter so they dont drag when offroad. Then get some 6mm rubber and bolt them on
Here's a pic of my bro's old Lux which had a couple of extra flaps to protect his camper - did the whole of CapeYork and didnt lose them

I have that exact same rear bar. Is it legal to JUST use the flaps on the bar, and not the ones right behind the wheel?
I have some 6mm rubber ones, 395x2XX mm or so (can't remember exactly). They cover the width of my 31"s.. (yea yea) but on the rear bar is the only place I can think of to mount them. Kinda ugly on there tho.
Any chance of closer ups?
EDIT: That's a really nice lux
Is that wheel carrier home made?

Have a look at the pics here. These are the only ones I have

Ignore the for sale bit - it sold about a year ago. I just dont know how to take the pics off the net.
If you have a look on the RTA website there are rules for the mudflaps. They probably have rules for the rules as well....
To get past rego you could just get some bigger rubber sheet and bolt it in front of the original flaps. Works ok on my Pootrol.
From memory my bro used aluminium angle bolted direct to the rearbar and attached the rubber to that. He used small chain to stop the flaps flopping forward and dragging on the tyre.
Anyway, at the end of the day its just a mudflap
