as the topic says, has anyone here ever had a TD42 head on a flow bench and still have the data at hand?

I did have a head done a long time back, I will try to find the data from it.
But I can remember that overall the increase was 32% flow for very little work, just a clean up behind the valves and port matching the inlet runners.

One of my team is getting an engine built and they got 28% with next to no porting work. Mainly valve area as already stated.

Do you have any details on the work around the valve? I'm getting bits together to start a new motor and will get this done while the heads off.

do you have the flow data for the stock and ported head?

Is this the same for a gu turbo diesel head as a n/a head??

Sorry but the joys of having other people who know that sort of stuff is I don't have to. So what I said is all I know.

I think the only difference between N/A and TD heads are the Pre-combustion chamber inserts.
I had my GQ head done up, and the reconditioner put in the GU turbo ones as my car is turboed and the standard ones were all cracked, can I see a difference between the two, nope they look the same as standard ones, I would have to say the hardness, would be whats different.

I have been told that there are 2 different size inlet and exhaust valves.
I dont know which one is what. I would assume that the larger valves are in the turbo head??
Cheers

I just measured my stuffed 88 TD42 and they are 43mm and 38mm. Does someone have a head off a TD42ti to measure?? I have one but dont plan on pulling the head off to measure the valves

.....Allthough if i can flow the head another 28% with a minor cleanup i may just have to pull the bastard off.
Cheers

since you have a head just sitting there, could you measure the height, width and length of the ports?

brad-chevlux are you using engine anylizer or DD2000 software?

i have a habit of entering the data for all my cars in EApro.
not really for modification purposes
but i find it interesting to see how well the program can simulate the engine.
i'm thinking of finding a second head for my GQ TD42 and porting it.
theory being the better the head flows the less boost i need to run, the less boost the lower the intake temps, the lower the intake temps the lower the EGT. The lower the EGT the better!
engines are pretty my life, my job lets me work on them all day and i spend most weekends playing with my own cars, be it the GQ, the falcon or the escort.

Intake port opening is 50x39, exhaust port opening is 41x35. Hope this helps.
I dont know what you mean by port length. If you can explain i will measure that too if you want.
