has anybody tried this conversion, will it work and is there any major issues with it.

it just seams like a good engine due to the high(for a 4cyl) torque down low.

Whilst the numbers look very good, I think this would be a terrible swap into a sierra.

It looks like Nissan only used this motor in the sunny/pulsar platform (all the variants, like the primera/sentra etc are variants of the sunny platform) and as such there's going to be no RWD parts for the motor, unlike the CA, SR, 4AG, (toyota) and G (Suzuki) motors that have been swapped.

So - Headers, sump, oil pickup, water pipe locations, mounts, gearbox adapter/ gearbox, flywheel, starter, and clutch are all areas that could cause grief, and because nobody has done it before, you'll have to work it all out for yourself.

Quite apart from that, late model motors like this often integrate body control into the engine control computer, so antitheft/immobiliser etc, ESP, TCC can all be controlled from the same computer. Removing these functions is harder than just clipping the wires - you'll get fault codes ahoy and because there's no "performance" culture for this motor, unlike, say an LS1, there's nobody out there who will know how to reflash the computer to remove these functions.

Personally, for all the work it would be, there are better options.

Steve.
