Idle problem

Post by dmac04 »

Hi Guys,

I have a problem with my GQ SWB PAtrol, Runs on PEtrol and Gas, The problem is that it some times idle at 2000 RPM and other times at 700 RPM.

It has not been tuned for some time and I a wondering if it is a tuning problem or an Ignition problem?

I have read that this may be related to needing to change my point in te distributor or the coil or the leads. I have changed the spark plugs at this stage and that is al, any help with what I should work on to fix this would be great.

Thanks

mine did the exact same thing. gas guy told me that it was the auto thing on the back of the carby, and you dont really need it in QLD, so he bypased it and never had another issue.

Hope this helps.
