ok my sad story to date... i have a swb 97 mod vit with the 4cyl 2l motor, anyhoo i did some research and thought id go with the 15x7" wheels and 235/75 tyres so i sourced some nice alloys with tyres (i also fitted a 2" body lift for clearance) i fitted the wheels and they did look the goods too bad when i tried to move my car i realised the callipers on the front had been clamped down on to disc because the wheel was too small to clear it only just though! so ive resisted the urge to fire the angle grinder up or put spacers in...

Now my question for you vit tech gurus, im planning on now getting new 16" kings wheels (terra chrome steelies) and 30.6" (245/75 r16) maxxis bighorn tyres if i install the ome suspension 2" plus my 2" body lift will i still have to hack at the guards for them to clear (since i have that plastic panel that runs around my car)? i also drive long distance time to time will this turn lil suzy into a pig to drive and muck with my gearing too much?

I dont know about anyone else but that vitara bible is pointless.
To answer your question, i have a suzuki vitara swb 98 model. I managed to get 235/70 r16 underneath. The only problem i have is that i get some minor rubbing on a full left lock, however none on the full right lock. On my car i dont have a body lift, but just a suspension lift and coil spacers.
I didn't have to cut anything at all, infact i still have about 2 inches clearance either side of the tire from the wheel archs.
Also, my car works just as well as it ever did, just 1000 times better offroad.
Also i was told that puttign the bfg muddies on my car would make it horrible to drive (stearing wheel would vibrate and car would be noisy). Both of these were wrong, appart from the car being a tiny bit slower, made no issues.
I can post a pic if your interested.

Hope that helped.

So how are you running 5" of suspension lift on a Vit?

2 inch suspension, 1 inch coil lift, 2 inch body lift, also tires lift the car up about 1-3 inches from stock aswell

i havent finnished yet but it should be 4 to 5 in
front diff will be droped 2in and st strut will be droped 75 mm
rear a arm will be spaced off diff 65 mm
and the lift will be lifted coils and spaces
plus 31 with hopefully no cutting just arms tilted forward and maybe a small amount of bump stop spacing
there is heaps of vits in my club with that much lift running 31 or 33
i will start a new post in the new year with info on the mods

a pic would be very helpful and yes the vit bible can be a bit ga.y its the major reason i have a set of useless rims and tyres in the yard! also are you running stocko rims?
