Hi, 80 series Landcruiser is leaking coolant fluid into the foot well of the car. Its making a BIG mess ... is this a common problem with these models and does any one have any idea here the problem might be and how to fix it?

Heater core is corroded to the point of being holed and leaking.
Head to a wreckers or OEM parts supply, source a new one. DIY installation.

Sounds like the heater core is leaking, think its a dash out job as you have to remove the hearter box to get it out.

Cant say i have seen it much on landcruisers. if the cooling system has not been serviced regularly then its going to happen to any car.

All depends how bad you want your heater. There should be two lines running into the firewall. Coolant in, coolant out. If you want your heater core to stop leaking take both of these lines off and connect them together.

just replaced my heater core OH WHAT A FEELING!

not fun, not easy but doable!

as suggested above I'd check the hose conection to the heater core on the firewall first as if they leak they squirt the coolant straight back in to the firewall.... unfortunately most likely is new heater core.
