Anyone else seen one of these things up close, have one, or seen one wheeling
I dropped the missus car in for a service today and while waiting had a look at one.
Bad:
* Engine was already rusting in several places not just the exhaust
* ECU is in the engine bay (wouldn't want to do a foording test in one)
* Tray (tub) doesn't have extrernal rails or a lip to hook rope or ratchets onto
* Interior ain't anywhere near a nice as others in the same class
Good:
* Nice chassis (lots of cross members for strength)
* Nice variable geometry turbo
* Middle rear seat belt is a lap/sash
* Head rests for the rear seats
* Stainless steel timing chain
* Good towing capacity
It looks great on paper but in real life leaves a bit to be desired
Any other opinions

Where if anywhere would you take one

What's wrong with the ECU in the engine bay?
The holden alloytech V6 actually has the ECU bolted to the inlet manifold, and GM have used engine may mounted ECUs for years and years.
They are fully sealed.
Steve.

The 3.2L V6 we used to have at Nat parks wasnt that well sealed- big puddle, hit it hard, fried the ECU

My wife has a 4x2 Ranger(rebadged BT50) with the 3litre TD with auto(company car) and i would have to say it is one of the worst new cars i have driven. I have been a mechanic for 13 years so i have driven alot of cars of the years.
My 5inch lifted GU on 35's takes corners like a racecar compared to it. And the driveline is shocking

The car is dangerous in wet weather.
I worked at Holden for 5 years and would own rodeo over the mazda any day

wow i find this very surprising i drove a 2.5 td bt-50 single cab every day as a courier for mazda for well over a year and i found it great except in the wet but i was sure it was the tyres on it.

Isn't the BT50 the new model with the 3 litre motor? The previous 2.5L ones are called "Bounty" over here.

BT50 comes in both 2.5 and 3.0l models.
not a massive fan of them myself, but a marked improvment over the old bravo/courier
