OK...
Figured that they don't have any for our LT230, however, that is "stupid" as that is THE main transfercase for Rovers (albeit in different versions)...
Can't we excerse some "opinions" on the company to start producing some low-range kits for us? (I know about the MD, but their scapegoat for the $$$ is the fact that they do not produce in quantity)...
Your thoughts please (on the subject, not in general
)

the problem is that 30% is currently the lowest tha maxi drive does as the gearing wont fit in the t case he is working on a 40 % which is what i am waiting for if enough people pester him it might get done faster as he already has the blanks he just need time on the cnc to produce them

Cool.
Again, I will bring up "dual LT 230" case set-up like the Toys are doing and the NP203+NP205 people are doing!
LT230s are CHEAP and purchasing an adaptor to mount them would be great. I know people have dismissed this, but it is a way to go.

dino, can you lower the final drive using toy gears in the diffs and change the highrange gears to compensate??
what about the crawler boxes ashcrofts sell??
will be coming up against this problem myself soon.
i know a guy who makes his own crawler boxes using transfer gears in an overdrive case. its very strong, but i don't know of a cheap overdrive case that bolts to later model gearboxes.

never having looked at a Hilux transfer case before...would it be possible to put 2 of them behind the rover tranny... how strong are they...what other transfers could possibly fit that would have reduction gears available

If someone can procure the CAD files for a 30% gearset, I could make a few......

The reason the doubler cases work (i.e. 2 hilux cases) is that those t-case styles have all the gears (and the rear output) in line with the gearbox. That way you can remove the 'leg' that contains the front output and bolt 2 t-cases together with an adaptor.
This is not possible with LR t-cases dur to the design. The only feasible method - other than using mal's 30% (or coming 40% kit), the only other option is an underdrive (that bolts on to the PTO drive - 6 bolt cover plate). GKN in the UK used to make an underdrive with a huge reduction, but apparently they stopped making them due to the low volumes sold.

Dual LT230s would not work, but a Toy reduction box between the trans and transfer would. Shifters and driveshafts would need to be addressed though, however one could have a 2.28, 4.0, 4.7, or 5.0 reduction in the toy box if desired. I'm not sure how well the LT230 input shaft would handle the torque mulitplication, though.
