2H - alternator power wire size

Is this wire that goes from my alternator to my battery too skinny for the job? It's an FJ45 with a 2H diesel 6 cylinder in it.

that depends, a 4x series doesnt need much power to run. The standard alt is about 50amps, and the standard wire looks about that size, but is actually quite a thick wire, just with thin insulation, so it looks small. Cant hurt putting a bigger wire on though, especially if you are going to be running more lights etc.

if you have a volt meter why not check to see if you get any voltage drop from your alternator to your battery? That will tell tou if its too small or not.

Note that this will only work with heavy load, so ensure to use a flat battery or turn on enough lights etc to simulate your alternators max capacity.

The wire there is rated for 50 amps constant, so it should be fine.
There's no extra electrics on mine. Just the standard headlights, indicators, tail lights and horn - the dash doesn't work, so no use of power from there.
