Looking to get a turbo for 3.0L GQ

Hi guys

I have a GQ ('90) 3.0L petrol/Gas that I'd like to add a turbo to. I have been told just get the VL turbo and pretty much bolt on, is that correct.

I have also been advised that it might be better to get a skyline R33/34 RB25det (with turbo) instead and add a heavy duty clutch but from my limited research that seems an expensive way to go

Can anyone tell me from what to what a turbo will provide in relation to power. I have again been told the R33 will enable me to go from 93kw to 185kw, but what about the VL turbo?

I guess I am asking for a how to for a newbie in relation to Turbo, is the VL Turbo going to be sufficient, or is the R33 the only real way to go? Or is there another option.

Also what I need to look out for in relation to what else I need to buy, like manifold, exhaust and anything else I might need to do to get the Turbo up and running.

With the GQ also on LPG will that affect or can it be used also with the Turbo?

Cheers for all advice and suggestions , oh and if you know of a good turbo or even a complete motor or a wrecking GQ that has a good turbo motor in it please let me know (I'm in Perth)

Thanks

im running a t3/t4 on a high mount manifold, front mount intercooler and gas research throttle body. ignition is controlled by a wolf 3d plus ecu running one holden ls1 coil pack per clylinder, this set up seems to go very good, im running 35's on mine and quite impressed with the power with only 7psi boost. this is all bolted up to the std patrol motor, with vl intake runners and forward facing plenum. your better off sticking with the patrol motor as it has bigger oil pump and a few other better bits, you will need a good hd clutch.

my set up should be up for sale in about a month, as im going ls1 v8, just because i can :D
