Grande cluster in VX prado

Post by crowey »

Hi everyone i have a 2005 T/D VX and was wondering if it was possible to put the centre cluster out of a Grande that shows fuel consumption, averages and direction of travel ( the one that sits above the stereo ) I have been told by Toyota that there are 8 different wiring looms for prados (bullsh!t if you ask me). I think it got put into the too hard basket!! I have seen a few grandes at the wreackers and would be keen to put this in mine if it was possible. I know that the centre fridge fits the VX (plugs into a/c) not sure about the guages tho

Any ideas??

Cheers

Why do you think they are full of shit?

I guarantee that the dash loom at the very least would be different between the base model and the vx/grande.

You MAY have the same loom as the grande, but who knows.

Why would toyota make 8 different looms for Prado's? I can assume that there might be a difference in base model to grande, but a vx is a grande minus air suspension, leather and centre console fridge. The bloke i spoke to didnt really want to help and didnt tell me where to find the id number on the wiring loom other than "it should be on the loom behind the dash somewhere"

And BJ vx and grande come in both petrol and diesel.. i think in the previous shape the VX was a diesel and a TX was a petrol.

So if anyone has any ideas on where to find out how to identify the electrical loom that would be great

Cheers
