Hi all. A few months back i bought a swb maverick 4.2 pet Auto from Lismore. I had to drive the said vehicle back to sydney as my old man had found the truck for me up at lismore. As i was making my way out of town i got the truck up to lock up speed it locked then it unlocked, and remained that way no matter what i did. Later on i stopped at a road side to strech my legs, got back in the truck got to lockup speed once again, it locked for a few k then jumped in and out of lockup then it refused to lock. Now when it reaches lockup speed it jumps in and out then it just wont lock umless i switch it off for a while then try again. Sorry for the long post.
Cheers
Doug.

Hi there Kiwi. I should have mentioned that its a 89 Mod Carby with 209,000kms. I ran the diagnostic procedure on the trans and i got 1 long flash then 10 short flashes. Acorrding to the book this indicates that its in good health, or so my wallet hopes. The trans was serviced and the bloke said that there was no rubbish in the pan.

Ok, if I were to use a manual converter lockup switch would this bypass the TCU? also is there a GQ wirering diagram that could show me how to wire up the switch. Or does anyone know of a switch kit I can just buy and be done with it.
Cheers
Doug.
