What Mud Terrain tyres do people use on their JK Rubicon

Post by NFI »

The JK Rubicon comes with 255/75 R17 All Terrain tyres. The brochure says they are Off Road but they wil turn to slicks in mud.

Apart from BFG what other makes of tyres are available in that size?

265/70 R17 (similar size to 255/75R75) seem to be a better option and more makes seem to be on offer.

Interested to hear what are being used.

IMHO on a JK I'd be looking at MT/R LT275/70R17.

Do the 275/70 R17 rub at all in full lock etc.
They are 32.15 (275/70R17) rather than 32.05" (255/75R17).

As they are around the same size, I am assuming that the speedo would not be that far out.

Who makes that size of tyre in the 17" rim?

Mickey Thomson make a 285/70R17 MTZ (33" equivalent). Will these rub with the standard susspension?

At a later stage, I will upgrade the sussepension i.e ARB, Ranco etc.

285's fit no rubbing, I have the ATZ's 4 rib. Speedo is spot on now, as it used to be a little slow.
