Outer Limits 4x4 Board

I have a full brass radiator in my patrol ute. I noticed that it had come loose at the top and was moving around a bit. This was caused by the bottem tank being dinted from underneath (where it sits on its rubbers, more than likely from jumping it too much recently).

Has anyone else ever had this problem with a radiator or is it more likely that the brass is too susceptable to damage.

yes from a rock hitting the bottom of radiator and punching it up

go to radiator shop and get it fix as long as there isnt to much damage

Sorry, i obviously didnt ask the question clearly enough.

the above question is what i would like answered, although thanks for pointing out that a radiator shop would be able to fix my radiator

Have the brackets come off the top tank or has it split the top tank where the brackets were soldered on?
Brackets breaking lose at the solder joins happens occaisionally, whether due to abuse like yours or just bad luck. Easily repaired.

You'll find that only the top and bottom tanks are brass. The core will be copper and the brackets steel.

erm i think he did answer your question...

you asked if anyone has had this problem with a radiator, and he stated that he has had the damage occur due to hitting a rock...


or did you not read his answer clearly enough?

yep ive had it also , but i thought it was from the body flexing and breaking the solder joins

Im afraid to answer incase i get it wrong

It happened on my old sierra after three days of absolute CRAP corrugated roads and wheeling in the vic high country. Just took it in and got it re-soldered.
