Starter with Chev engine in GQ ?

Just test-fitted the 4.3 V6 Chevy with a TH700 and Marks t-case adaptor into my ex-TD42 GQ shorty and found out that the stock Chevy starter might hit the diff case at full bump pretty hard. It sits right above the diff. The V6 is basically a shortened SBC, so everything first gen. Chev V8 will apply to this engine too.
Any hints on what starter to use ?

they give the best clearance, and they work very well aswell.

you can clock it to get the best solenoid position also.

I think you can get left hand starters but you will need a remote oil filter adaptor

The oil filter is already remote style from factory with the 4.3's, but I don't see where a LH starter could fit with the Chev TH700 ?

I have heard of LH starters being used on chevy V8s for hotrod applications where clearance is an issue. As for the TH700 they the ones in aus have a exposed flex plate & torque convertor with a tin or plastic cover & you could use a cover from a holden V8 where the starter is on the left from factory

Does this apply for the Holden V8 or Chevy bellhousing ?
