GU axle ID

can anyone tell me how i can be sure that the front axle [ hub to hub ] im looking at is out of a GU and not a GQ? cheers.
are you talking complete diff?
if so, the swivel hub bearings are off set in the GU \ where as the GQ they are pretty much verticle, |
