1HD-T fuel system - pump and injectors

Post by jsttry »

Waiting on a new set of injector lines to arrive as they've been on and off a few times and appear to be weeping around the pump. Cleaned it all up and its not leaking from the usual spot on the pump where the casing meets.

Drove it home tonight after servicing it and it puffed (now a solid stream, just a few puffs) when on boost around 2300rpm. Seemed more than normal, but then it hasn't been driven in nearly 2 weeks.

My question is what could this seemingly random puffs be? Is it more likely to be pump or injectors? how can you check if there is a problem with the pump or the injectors? Any sort of troubleshooting possible? Am hoping the lines fix the leak as I don't want to have to get the pump reconditioned. :)

Motor was rebuild 2yrs ago and pump was bench tested at the same time apparently (previous owner's receipts) and a dial guage was thrown on it only recently to check it was dialled in.
