Best way to cut back door

Post by SteveC »

To all that have fitted flares to 4 door Rangie.

What is the best way to cut the double skin back doors. I was concidering using either an air hacksaw or 4" grinder with thin cut blade. You need to cut outside skin separate to inside sklin.

Any comments.

Thanks
Steve

I used a 4 inch angle grinder. cut both skins.

If you have one a jig saw would be good,

have fun.

I just used a jigsaw with a fine blade & did both skins at once. The inner, being steel didn't move around much. Less than 5 min/ door. Nice & neat too. A bit of thick tape on btm of jigsaw will stop any scratches.

I followed the RS instructions and didn't have any problems.
Used an air nibbler on the outer skin and a hacksaw for the rest, worked fine.

Air nibbler and Angle Grinder. BFH also helps to tuck it all back into shape and get the flare as much up as possible.
