hey guys
Fitted a long range tank and used the sender out of the old tank.
Now ever scince then its been all over the place, Full, then Half then Empty again ( got 150 lts in there)
Is my sender screwed even though it was perfect in the old one? do i need to get a newby ?

Sounds ood the that the sender was working and is now not. It could be faulty maybe damagaded by an accident whilst fitting.
Is the sender arm fouling on anything, the side of the tank or a baffle. Could be hard to check however.
complete pain in the arse but you could try filling the tank, at say 10 liters at a time. see what the gauge does. If it stops at a certain point this could indicate its jaming.
Could try removing the sender hold the float at differnet levels see what the gauge reads.

i was very careful not to disturb it to much when taking it out and replacing . i will have a play and see if infact is is hitting something. Should i give the sensor a wipe over aswel ?

did you apply too much heat while extending the float arm the the pickup tube?

well i measured from the standard tank, 310mm bottom of tank to top rim of the sender and the new long range tank was exactly the same 310mm. So i havn't touched the sender in anyway just out and in. I asumed that the new tank was to use all existing parts and mounts.
