Has anyone tried them on the road,As i'm sick of wearing my other so called a/t's out within 12 mths. Will they be to hard for a zook , :? and what do you guys suggest to use :?: As you cannot buy cheap retreads any more  so i'm buying new ones. And light truck ones will work on the beach.I know this from my land rover days. that was a series 1 landy  not much bigger than a zook but with less power  .

Um yes plenty have, any radial on the right rim, LT or not will bag out enough at a holdable pressure. I ran maxxis buckshot mudder LT 235/75/15 for quite some time and they performed awesome onroad in daily duties and were quiet as.

I think he's talking about light commercial tyres?

Like the ones that come on some utes.

maybe?

I ran 205r16 on my LJ50 for about 3 years, and the same on a daihatsu F50. Also ran 750s on another LJ50, and 8.25r16 (14ply) on a G60 Patrol.

'course this was all in the time when the only option was a 31.

I am now running 205s on the Lada, and also have a mate running 700s on a sierra, and am setting up some rims for my Vitara after trying the 700s off my mates sierra.

Overall I prefer them to the wider tyres ... easier steering, longer life, cheaper. Only downside can be getting rims sorted, 'specially for a Vit;- 16x5.5 don't exist.

i wore out 3 sets of 29" tyres last year with my welded diff..:)
i got 31X10.5 on F100 rims with messive off set, stick out of the guards like dogs ballz, they track like a little bitch on heat, any grooves in the road they just follow, im allover the road.. a cop pulled me over and asked iif i was drunk!! my next tyres i get will be 32" due to the fact u can get them narrower i think 8.5 wide. on the sand in a vitara doesnt matter wat tyres u have-standard bald road tyres seem to work great on sand. with 31's on mine a/t pulled a few hiluxes bogged to their doors in sand on fraser island at christmas...----TIP DOESNT MATETR WHAT TYRES U R RUNNING LET THEM DOWN TO 10PSI-i run mine at 8 PSI on sand and have never had a problem with tyres commin off or spinning in the rims

with 16" rims u need bigger rubber size to make then bag out as much as 15"s. think about that. and if u r into serious stuff dont buy alloy buy STEEL RIMS, alloy just break into pieces when u hit a big rock off road with impact and the steel will just buckle a bit if its a big enough inpact.
seen quite a few alloy rims break!!!!

Thanks mate, but i started wheeling in 1975 when big rubber was 31's most of my zooks had 600/16 or 650/16 bar-treads on them :D i used to go places that i would not go with a locked zook now  I just want to get some tyres that will last a bit longer than A/T's.On the road

when i bought my zook it had light truck-they were the same as u would find on a commercial vehicle eg-large van or some utes have them, they were not 2 bad off road in dirt and mud,in the sand they were alot better than my 31's when the pressure was let out they would have a long surface area which made me glide right over the sand with no friction, the 31's seem to give me alot wider surface area which is causing a bit of friction which slows me a bit and makes my zook work alot harder, deffinately rate them in the sand.but got chewed up by my cig locker in no time.. standard diff centre put back in cause my 31's kept snapping lefthand side axel
