Boiling point

Hi fellas. I have just about had enough of my overheating rangie. It hasn't been right since that electric fan fiasco, you know Sam, the ones I gave you for your buggy? I can drive around fine until I get up to highway speed for any length of time or labour the engine on a hill. It doesn't make any difference if I have the 33's or the 35's on. Are the four core radiators that much better? The other thing is the CV's. I spoke to Mal Story the other day and he is talking about some that are under going feild testing in th US. I hope they work out because I am getting pretty sick of chewing them to bits with seemingly little effort. Any thoughts would be apreciated.

Andy

there is a guy at eco trans in melbourne who puts his own impellers on water pumps and flow tests them (they work great he did one for my 351 cleveland)!!

G'day, have you replaced your thermostat? You'd be suprised how many engines are killed by these $30 parts........

I have replaced the thermostat, water pump, head gaskets and fan. There is a highmount winch and an ARB bar in front but that is no different to Pommy's, Hingerty's, Hummer's or either of the Smiths.

if you got the money go the 4 core you wont regrete it
i use to be on the beach a lot and was forever overheating ( rad was partially blocked ) put the 4 core in and never had the needle over half since but they are pricey

I had the tanks removed and the core "rodded" out and cleaned. The whole darn thing should be perfect. I have got my hands on another vehicle and it has a four core radiator in it so I will be trying that.

this may sound silly but check your timing .. mine was out by 6 degrees and i had lots of over heating freeway driving and four wheeling .. more timing and no heating porbs anymore . There was a write up on another forum regarding the rover timing etc your timing light may show the correct degree but it can be up to 8 degree out because of the cam dial in .. so maybe timing it by hand ( advance slowly till it pings driving then back it off a little )
