My neighbour has just purchased one of these - couple of questions if you learned people don't mind...
1. Biggest tyres on stock suspension - 31's don't look like they will fit...???
2. Is there a lift available, how big and are there brands that are favoured for weekender activities (nothing hard core)...???
3. Tranny overheat light came on during a very dusty climb at Toolangi, took about 15 mins to go out with vehicle stationary - common complaint or time to have his tranny serviced...???
Thanks in advance guy's
Blue

G'day Blue
I can not answer your question, but I am sure these guys will be able to.
I would be very surprised if there was not a suspension kit for these..

Hi.
I have one of these also, and although mine is stock atm, the following should help you:
1. 235/75R16 will fit stock KJs (only slightly larger than original 235/70R16)
2. Best advice on lifts is to talk to CRDSTU at AusJeepOffroad.com (AJOR). He is commonly regarded as being the guru of KJ suspension, and has collaborated with KingSprings and OldManEmu to develop ideal lift kits for each model. Largest size tire after lift is 245/75R16 (31" tire, on 16" wheel, and available in LT construction.)
3. Buggered if I know, but you might find more info at AJOR...
Hope this is useful...

I must say, except for the lack of clearance and HT tyres, the Jeep did a reasonable job through Toolangi - only had to rescue it once...
What tracks did you do in Toolangi.
I thought most of them would be closed due to the North South pipe line works.
Started on Pauls Range side, Pauls is closed so we went around to link tk then turned right up another (I suck at remembering names), we followed that up to the ridge then along to the Healsville road, over to Spraggs and I think it was the next right after Vic Range Tk, pissed about until we found blowhard and headed back to Spraggs then into Toolangi for lunch at the TavernNFI wrote:Bluefreak wrote:Thanks guy's - I'll pass this along and we'll see where it all ends up...
