what engine oil to use for a 4.2l turbo diesel GU

tried doing a search but keeps saying no results found even for a search with engine oil

anyway i have a turbo diesel 4.2l gu

doing my first service on her and wondering what oil to use

1998 with 127,000kms if that makes any difference

also 10l isn't it?

you will get 1200 options.
just use genuine filters.

why genuine filters?
its currently got RYCO filters in it and both of them are different...
how would I get the right filters from Nissan cause im not sure if its an aftermarket oil set up or not (2 oil filters)

its standard all GU 4.2s have 2 filters with a shit design. when you remove them, oil coats everything...

Genuine IMWO have best antidrain back setup.. I've had no issues.

there is a massive thread on filters.. everyone likes the ones they use. *shock* ;)

and the 2 "different" filters are factory fitted.

Z503 and Z416 are the equivilant filters. can be cross matched to other part numbers.

I have never used genuine filters. But I do get a more expensive brand name as opposed to the no name one they can sell me for less than half the price :shock:

I 've always used Penrite HPR Deisel. In a comp abused td42, slightly cheaper if you can buy it in 20l drums. Always used Ryco filters too, no dramas there either. :cool:

yeah i used penrite diesel oil too but filled it up with about 9.5l and its not even showing on the dip stick? :S
