Outer Limits 4x4 Board

ok so i can remember reading somewhere(not sure if it was here or not) that it is possible to adjust the suspension on IFS vehicles to move the wheels fowards (as in, less need to bash my front inner guards to fit bigger rubber).

now as we know, the search function on this site is often hit and miss, and im sure if i came back and searched in a weeks time id find what im looking for, but this time, no luck.

so, who can tell me how to move my front wheels fowards, and will it have any major negative impact on handling?

It is possible with an old style 4" drop bracket lift kit but it does mean some serious racing camber and tyre rotation becomes a priority.

Not exactly ideal, use the BF Hammer its much easier and a more satifsfactory method.

Unless someone else has done something tricky, then i'm keen to find out too!!

Did this on my first 4runner.....i believe if you increase the castor on the toyota IFS truck the tyre moves forward from the firewall, i think it max's out at only 10-15mm forward but.

2nd 4runner I didn't bother and just let the tyres clearance the panels themselves.

Took it into Bob Jane T-Marts at Caloundra and they did it while doing a wheel alignment.

I think Ryano at Fourbys also done it to Boofs rig when it was still IFS so he might shed some light if he see's this thread.

fair enuf then. its prob about due for an alignment anyways...

To increase castor adjust the lower control arm adjustments, push the rear adjustment out and the front adjustment in.

probably. But if putting bigger than 32's on it, its going to end up handling like a dog whichever way you look at it.
